The Team

Founded in 2020, Synonym is preparing for the post-Bitcoin economy by designing and developing an ecosystem of products and protocols that includes Bitkit, Blocktank, and Slashtags.

Synonym empowers individuals to take control and ownership of their digital lives. We are committed to the principles of digital autonomy, privacy, and open-source technology.

Synonym is an entirely remote team of Bitcoiners working to bring new integrated products to Bitcoin using the Lightning Network and cutting-edge peer-to-peer technologies.

The Job

We are seeking an experienced marketing professional who is eager to shape the future of Bitcoin and freedom technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with Bitcoin-centric products across different brands and products.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead initiatives and the versatility to handle diverse marketing disciplines, making a significant impact within a global remote team dedicated to empowering individuals to take ownership of their digital lives.

You will work with the CEO, design team and business developers to establish strategies and budgets to bootstrap our products.

Specifically, in Q2 we are launching the Bitkit wallet app, providing Lightning services to it via our Blocktank LSP. Then in Q4 we are launching a new P2P web protocol along with a flagship application that leverages the protocol. We aim to rapidly acquire users of both applications as well as cultivate a developer community for the new protocol, and we need your help.

  • Marketing Roadmap Development: Create and execute a detailed marketing roadmap that outlines specific strategies for product promotion, brand differentiation, and engaging digital content, leveraging an array of channels to acquire, engage, and retain users.
  • User Acquisition: Execute comprehensive international marketing strategies aligned with our objectives, utilizing both paid and organic channels to acquire new users for multiple products.
  • Social Media & Community Management: Manage and elevate our social media presence and chats to boost brand visibility and engage with our community. Drive initiatives that strengthen relationships with users and influencers, and secure our presence in podcasts and conferences.
  • Content Production: Create and execute a content strategy that aligns with industry trends and enhances communication across all platforms, including websites, press releases and promotional materials.
  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work alongside the product team to coordinate product and feature launches, ensuring consistent messaging and a unified brand voice. Assist business developers with materials, growing developer communities


  • Minimum 5 years in marketing, preferably in fintech, crypto, or tech, with a proven record of successful strategy execution across various channels
  • Capable of independently managing marketing projects and making strategic decisions to achieve objectives
  • Exceptional command of English, with the ability to articulate complex strategies effectively to different audiences, from internal teams to external stakeholders
  • A working understanding of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network and a passion for open-source projects
